Hudson House : Guest Bedroom

We went bold and put a lot of pattern on pattern in this fun guest bedroom. I was a little nervous as to how it would turn out, but Karlyn really pushed for the look and I think her instincts were right on the mark! The over all look of the room is fun, warm, and light. Check it out below!

Turning a Little Girl’s Nursery into a Toddler Room

It happens fast – we put so much time and effort into designing a nursery and once the child turns 3-4 years old, we already need to re-design the room so that the space fits the toddler’s age appropriate needs. Transitioning from a a crib to a bed, adding storage for toys, play tables, desks, and more mature accessories are some of the items that need an update. Here is a design board we recently presented to a client. She has a 3- year old daughter, and wanted her new room to grow with her though out her childhood years.

Poe Project // Guest Bathroom // Before + After

We  already shared the Poe Project Bonus Room , and now its time to show off the guest bathroom remodel. I am going to go ahead and say that I don’t think this bathroom has been updated since the 1980’s and boy, did we have our work cut out for us. The purple walls and cave-like shower were not idea for our client who wanted a bathroom to call her own. She wanted something girly, clean, and open. After selecting tile and wallpaper, we started on the remodel. Since the bathroom was so small, we decided to keep the plumbing layout as existing. By opening up the walls in the shower and replacing the frosted glass door with a clear glass shower surround, we made the room feel much larger. Check out the final project below….

Palisades Project : Master Bedroom

Today we are sharing the master bedroom at our #PalisadesProject. This project (literally and figuratively) was a  real labor of love! Over the two year period it has taken to complete the house,  both the client and I had babies, which made for a bit of a longer time line as us ladies were laboring humans and decor:)  More rooms to come over the next few weeks on the blog.  Enjoy the photos. We just love this young, hip couple and can’t wait to share more of the rooms in this beautiful house. xo kshd

PoeProject: Bonus Room Transformation (Before + After)

After being introduced to our client at PoeProject, we quickly learned that this mom of three boys needed a room all of her own. This bright and airy space was a blank pallet. The client was not tied to any of the existing furniture, but wanted the room to double as both a play room and guest bedroom. We were given free reign to come up with a design layout that would properly suit our client and her family. As you can see from the photos below, I think we were able to incorporate all the client’s needs into this large space. Once the design plan was selected,  we knocked down a large closet to create more space and designed custom built-ins for storage and workspace. Enjoy!
